Description
Our client, a regulatory body, is looking for a regulatory analyst for its financial services team. The position would ideally be based in Quebec but could also be based elsewhere in Quebec to the extent that the selected person can come to the Quebec office most Wednesdays.

The selected person will be entrusted with the following tasks in particular:

Act as an advisor on the development of the framework applicable to distributors of financial products and services, in the field of insurance, financial planning and mortgage brokerage and, occasionally, in securities;

Propose orientations in terms of revision of laws, regulations and administrative procedures;

Conduct studies to inform the various stakeholders on various issues related to the evolution of various distribution practices in the market.

Participate in the supervision activities of self-regulatory and industry support organizations (tools, training, conferences, etc.).

Requirements
The analyst we are looking for is:

A good team player with a good analytical mind;

Holds an undergraduate degree in law or in another discipline relevant to the duties of the position;

Has five (5) years of relevant experience in regulatory or compliance activities;

Has an excellent knowledge of French and English in order to express, write and popularize content in these two languages;

Demonstrates proactivity, organization and adaptation in an emergency and unforeseen context.
