Description
Our client, a regulatory body whose mandate is primarily to protect the public, is looking for a lawyer interested in joining its Montreal-based team. The selected person will be responsible for the following tasks: Carry out studies, analyzes and research in order to decelerate and document general issues related to the evolution of the legal, regulatory and administrative framework in a technological context. Consequently, propose guidelines for the development or revision of laws, regulations and administrative procedures; Contribute, as an expert, to the reflection and development of applicable regulations, in particular through collaboration with the authorities of other jurisdictions. Contribute to the development of regulatory texts, directives, opinions or other positions aimed at supervising the activities of the targeted sector. State and write presentations, documents and analytical notes, in both French and English, about the research in English, its recommendations, its conclusions or the important issues expressed; Ensure the practical and adequate application of the various regulatory instruments monitor, in particular the regulatory activities of other regulators as well as industry trends, in order to understand potential issues and support regulatory development; Participate and ensure the professional coordination of mandates and special projects Responsible for travel, particularly in various jurisdictions, to attend work meetings or participate in training.
Requirements
Hold a bachelor's degree in law or in any other discipline relevant to the job; Have at least 5 years of relevant experience; Fluency in French and English, both oral and written. Spirit of synthesis, rigor and critical thinking; Ability to negotiate, develop strategies; Excellent analytical and synthesis skills; Excellent writing and oral expression skills; Agility, the ability to engage despite ambiguity and to anticipate political issues; Ability to formulate and suggest innovative solutions; Very good sense of planning and organization.
